Effective October 1st there were some changes to the Maryland Self-Service Lien Statutes. Some major changes are the facilities being allowed to remove vehicles and vessels from the property after 60 or more days past due.

Facilities, may also auction property that is in lien on line.

The legislators have also added permission to email lien notices if that method of communication is stated in the Rental Agreement. However the tenant must acknowledge receipt of the email for it to be a valid form of communication. If the email return receipt is not accepted by the tenant, the letters must be sent out again by USPS Certified w/ return receipt requested.

Late Fees may be $20 or 20%
